Position Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated coaches to mentor and develop participants in the Youth Ski League (YSL). This role focuses on advancing athletes’ racing techniques while inspiring a lifelong enjoyment of skiing. The coach reports to the Alpine Director and collaborates closely with coworkers and supervisors to support athlete development.


Position Details

  • Type: Part-time, seasonal

  • Duration: Early December through the end of March

  • Schedule: 1–2 days per week (Saturdays and/or Sundays)

  • Travel: Attendance at races required

  • Safety: Proactively promotes safety for self and others. Maintains a clean and orderly environment. Adheres to all safety policies, including Safe Sport, background checks, and required trainings.

  • Skills: Passion for working with children of all ages. Must demonstrate advanced skiing ability as evaluated by the Head/Lead Coach.

  • Communication: Provides daily positive feedback to athletes and submits written mid-season and year-end evaluations to the Alpine Director.

  • Team Player: Supports TBK policies, procedures, and philosophy. Participates actively and positively in trainings and meetings.


Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily outdoors in mountain environments with exposure to cold, snow, wind, sun, high altitude, and varying terrain.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours) in ski boots.

  • Continuous talking, hearing, and visual focus (near vision and depth perception).

  • Physical tasks include carrying gates, bamboo poles, race equipment, and operating chairlifts for course setup.

Certifications Required Before Start Date

  • US Ski & Snowboard Level 100 Certification

  • USSS / IFSA Background Check

  • Safe Sport Training

  • CPR / First Aid Certification

  • Concussion Awareness Training

  • Avalanche Safety Training
