In 1973, George Beardsley founded the Breckenridge Ski Club to share his passion and commitment of skiing and ski racing with youth of all ages. He also recognized the importance of National and International travel to give youth a chance to see the country and the world while pursuing their dreams of high-level athletic performance.

He formed lasting relationships with race teams around the country and the world that forever change the lives of these youth.

In 1989, Breckenridge Ski Resort wanted to elevate the level of exposure for the resort and committed to providing the resources and the environment necessary to create a WORLD CLASS ski team. This was the beginning of Team Breckenridge. The community's and the ski resort's passion and support were unmatched, and Team Breckenridge grew into one of the most respected ski programs in the world.

Team Breckenridge operated under the name of Quantum Sports Club from 2000-2009 as we formed our current 501 (c)(3) Colorado non-profit Corporation.   This transition came about as our operations moved from a department within the Breckenridge Ski Resort to a 501 (c)(3) to allow for increased funding opportunities.

Over the last 4+ decades Team Breckenridge has maintained the highest-level athletic standards providing quality ski programs that focus on developing quality individuals and competitors.

We are a member of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. Our program is managed by volunteers with our only paid staff being coaches who work directly with the athletes in a coaching capacity and a full-time Executive Officer who is responsible for raising the funds necessary for the program to operate.
