Developmental Ski Coach – Team Breckenridge Sports Club

Join Team Breckenridge Sports Club (TBK) this winter as a coach and mentor in our Developmental Ski Program. You'll help young athletes (ages 5–13) progress in advanced skiing techniques while fostering a love for the sport in a supportive, community-based environment.

Position Details:

  • Seasonal, part-time role: December 6 or 7 through March 20 or 21

  • Work Saturdays and/or Sundays for 15 weeks

Core Responsibilities:

  • Coach and develop young athletes using age-appropriate methods

  • Help participants set and achieve personal skiing goals

  • Provide daily positive feedback and submit mid-season and year-end evaluations

  • Maintain a fun, safe, and supportive learning environment

  • Represent TBK’s values, professionalism, and commitment to athlete development

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Advanced skiing ability

  • Minimum of 1 year coaching experience

  • Enjoy working with children of all ages

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Punctual, reliable, and professionally presented

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proactive about safety for self and others

  • Support TBK philosophies, attend all required meetings and trainings

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Work performed entirely outdoors in mountain weather (cold, snow, wind, sun, high altitude)

  • Must stand in ski boots for up to 8 hours

  • Regular communication with children, parents, and team members

  • Continuous use of vision (near and depth perception)

Mandatory Certifications & Training (prior to start date):

  • USSS and/or IFSA background check

  • SafeSport training

  • CPR & First Aid certification

  • Concussion awareness training

  • Avalanche safety training
