Team Breckenridge Sports Club (TBK) has inspired and encouraged athletes for 50 years and has seen athletes excel to the highest levels of competition. Our mission is to provide our youth athletes with the positive environment and balanced guidance that fosters self-confidence, embraces goals, and nurtures a lifelong love for the mountains and snow sports. It is our goal to provide a fun and safe environment for athletes to excel, both on and off the mountain.

About the Positions

Team Breckenridge coaches will mentor and coach athletes aged 6 and older in an enthusiastic and effective manner that helps the athletes advance their skiing technique and inspire life-long enjoyment in skiing.

Intro to TBK Part-time Coach (Ages 6-13)

Part-time seasonal positions are available for the 2025-26 ski season.

Saturdays and /or Sundays 

This position involves coaching the youngest age group within the Team Breckenridge Sports Club (TBK). As an Intro Team Coach, you will introduce young athletes to the fundamentals of Alpine, Big Mountain, and Freeride skiing. Athletes in this group are able to confidently ski blue runs and make parallel turns. Your role will focus on developing strong foundational skills, fostering a love for the sport, and promoting safety, teamwork, and confidence on the mountain.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach basic techniques across Alpine, Big Mountain, and Freeride disciplines

  • Prioritize fun, skill development, and mountain safety

  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment

  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and staff

  • Assist in athlete assessment and progression tracking

Qualifications:

  • Strong skiing ability and passion for working with young athletes

  • Previous coaching or instructing experience preferred

  • Patience, enthusiasm, and strong communication skills

 

Big Mountain Coach (Ages 7-12)

Part-time seasonal positions are available for the 2025-26 ski season.

Saturdays 

This position is for our All Mountain Rippers program, an introductory team focused on Big Mountain skiing and fundamental ski skills. Coaches will work with young athletes to develop their all-mountain technique while introducing them to the core principles of mountain safety and terrain awareness. This is a non-competitive program designed to build confidence, skill, and a love for skiing in a supportive and fun environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach basic big mountain skiing techniques and ski fundamentals

  • Emphasize safety, smart decision-making, and respect for mountain terrain

  • Create a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere

  • Work with athletes of varying ability levels in an all-mountain setting

  • Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and program staff

Qualifications:

  • Strong skiing ability and comfort navigating a variety of terrain

  • Experience working with children or coaching youth sports

  • Knowledge of mountain safety practices

  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a team-first mindset

  • Ability to carry up to 50 lbs and stand outdoors for extended periods

Big Mountain Coach (Ages 12+)

Part-time seasonal positions are available for the 2025-26 ski season.

Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays 

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Big Mountain Coach to join our competitive freeride program. This role focuses on training athletes in advanced big mountain skiing techniques while emphasizing mountain safety, terrain awareness, and competition preparation. Coaches must be comfortable leading athletes in variable and technical terrain and fostering a team-oriented, growth-minded environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach athletes in advanced big mountain and freeride techniques
  • Instruct and enforce mountain safety, risk management, and terrain selection
  • Support athlete development through goal-setting and individual feedback
  • Prepare athletes for IFSA-sanctioned competitions
  • Collaborate with other coaches to implement seasonal training plans
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and fun training atmosphere
  • Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and program leadership
  • Uphold all resort and program safety policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in big mountain/freeride skiing
  • Previous coaching experience preferred
  • Knowledge of avalanche safety and mountain travel techniques
  • Ability to ski expert-level terrain in all conditions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented attitude
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for long hours outdoors in winter conditions
  • [Preferred: Avalanche Level 1 or 2 certification, CPR/First Aid, USSS/IFSA coaching certification]

 

Alpine YSL Coach (Ages 6 - 17)

Part-time seasonal positions available for the 2025-26 ski season.

Saturdays and/or Sundays and select holidays

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic coach for our YSL (Youth Ski League) Race program—an introductory ski race team for young athletes. Participants in this program are confident skiers who can navigate the entire mountain while making consistent parallel turns.

The YSL program emphasizes the development of fundamental racing skills through gate training, SkillsQuest drills, and all-mountain freeskiing. A background in ski racing is highly encouraged.

Requirements:

  • Experience in ski racing or coaching preferred

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

  • Capable of standing and skiing for extended periods in variable mountain conditions

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Passion for working with youth athletes in a team-oriented environment

Alpine Age Class U10/U12 Coach (Ages 8- 11)

Part-time seasonal positions available for the 2025-26 ski season.

Saturdays and Sundays and select holidays

We are seeking a passionate and experienced ski racing coach to join our U10/U12 Age Class Race Program—a competitive alpine team focused on developing young athletes. Candidates must have a strong background in ski racing and a desire to coach and mentor athletes who are already confidently skiing the entire mountain while making parallel turns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support daily training sessions, including gate training, SkillsQuest drills, and all-mountain freeskiing

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team environment

  • Ensure athlete safety and manage group dynamics on the hill

  • Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and program leadership

  • Assist with setup and breakdown of training environments (e.g., carrying gates, course maintenance)

Qualifications:

  • Prior ski racing and/or alpine coaching experience required

  • Ability to ski all terrain in all conditions with confidence and control

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs

  • Able to stand and ski for extended periods in a cold, outdoor environment

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • USSA certification or equivalent coaching credentials

  • CPR/First Aid certification

  • Experience working with youth athletes

Our U10/U12 Age Class team focuses on foundational skill development and fostering a love of ski racing in a supportive and fun environment. Athletes train in gates, participate in SkillsQuest, and build strong all-mountain skills in preparation for competition.
