Position Summary
The U14+ Big Mountain Competition Coach will mentor and train athletes in advanced skiing techniques and competitive freeride skiing. The role involves working closely with the Program Director and fellow coaches to guide athlete development in a positive, safe, and effective way that promotes lifelong enjoyment of the sport.
Responsibilities

Coach athletes in the U14+ Big Mountain competitive program using TBK’s philosophies and training methodologies.

Provide technical and tactical instruction in freeride and big mountain skiing.

Foster a positive team environment that encourages growth, goal-setting, and personal development.

Deliver daily verbal feedback and submit mid-season and year-end written evaluations for each athlete.

Prioritize athlete safety and sportsmanship, on and off the hill.

Maintain strong communication with athletes, parents, and fellow staff.

Attend all required trainings, team meetings, and competitions as scheduled.
Minimum Qualifications

Advanced or expert-level skiing ability with demonstrated technical and tactical knowledge.

Experience working with youth athletes, ideally in competitive or developmental programs.

Ability to provide clear, positive, and effective feedback.

Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Passion for mentorship, sport, and youth development.

Physical Requirements

Ability to ski and coach outdoors in extreme weather conditions at high altitude for extended periods.

Capable of standing, skiing, and moving on snow for up to 8 hours in ski boots.

Must be able to see and hear clearly in a mountain environment to ensure safety and effective coaching.
